The Place Agency has partnered with last-mile logistics innovator eDelivery to introduce its revolutionary digital platform to the retail and shopping centre markets in Australia and New Zealand.

eDelivery provides customers with a 2-hour delivery option at checkout, utilising proprietary AI Technology and a crowdsourced, “uber style” driver network to expedite how customers receive their goods from their online shopping. All with significantly lower delivery charges for the customer.

Over six years in development, the platform’s intelligent and machine learning systems streamlines business operations, allowing customers to receive their goods within 2-hours of fulfilment, all from just $8.95 per delivery, a huge 75% saving on current comparable service delivery offerings.

For retailers, the eDelivery system seamlessly integrates with existing digital marketing platforms such as Shopify, allowing simple onboarding into their existing system without overhauling their digital stack.

“The launch of eDelivery is a significant boost for online brands and businesses in the ANZ market, finally allowing them to compete with major marketplaces like Amazon across the all-important delivery timeliness segment of the customer experience” – Jack Amies, Managing Director, The Place Agency.

With consumer demand for same-day and next-day delivery soaring during the pandemic, online and omnichannel retailers contrived solutions using their own delivery vans, third-party couriers, and gig economy drivers. This ad hoc response spurred eDelivery CEO Carl Popovic to rethink how technology could address this problem.

“It was clear that the market wanted a same day delivery offering, but the price point of around $45 per delivery was a hurdle that many retailers and customers simply could not absorb.” – Carl Popovic, CEO eDelivery.

eDelivery fills this gap, offering an accessible price point for customers, whilst providing retailers with a turn-key solution that allows them to be competitive across delivery options. Currently a market advantage enjoyed by global online marketplace brands.

The Place Agency partnership with eDelivery will see them launch the platform to the Australian retail market, targeting large standalone retail groups as well as shopping centres.

“The platform design and functionality is world class, enabling solutions across a range of retail scenarios, including complex environments such as large format shopping centres.” – Jack Amies.

The platform, which will formally launch to market in late 2023, already has over 2,000 registered and accredited drivers, with available vehicle types ranging from scooters right up to heavy vehicles.

“We’ve harnessed the power of AI, to ensure the right vehicle is selected for every delivery. For example, if you’ve purchased a large TV or white good product, our platform will ensure that only vans or small trucks are used to deliver your product to its destination.” – Carl Popovic

With eDelivery now fully operational, The Place Agency are partnering with retail groups and shopping centres to conduct pilot programs, before the wider national launch later this year.
